Executive Committee Goals
- Implement a plan to protect teacher autonomy focusing on the mandated use of ORCA and the Foundation Skills Assessment
- Achieve contract language for middle school teachers with respect to prep time and team leaders
- Prepare for the November 2008 school trustee elections with an aim to endorsing candidates and having an active involvement in the campaign
- Implement a plan to persuade the district to direct $4.5 million from the surplus to address class size and class composition
- Improve member involvement in the GVTA

Pro D Committee Goals
- Pro-D agreement renewed (September 2007)
- To protect and assert teacher professional autonomy by informing members about their rights regarding the Pro-D letter of agreement
- To make members aware of professional autonomy issues regarding district-wide and provincial assessment
- To inform members of professional development opportunities occurring at local schools
- To develop a database of teacher workshop facilitators and to make the database available to members
