Middle School Issues Print E-mail

Greater Victoria middle school teachers have been protesting the Superintendent's decision not to negotiate with them to bring about a positive resolution of the prep time dispute since December of 2007.  Of the twenty school districts in the province that have middle school, Greater Victoria School District is the only district that has resorted to a long and expensive arbitration process instead of bargaining locally.  By the end of the current arbitration, including days for mediation, the School District will have spent tens of thousands of dollars of tax payers money that could have more appropriately been directed to the classroom.
